Haus Sterr

This is our most traditional house, with paintings on the walls of the stairs and mounted hunting trophies. There is lots of wood panelling on the walls and ceilings, by the stairs and in the 2 larger apartments. The apartments were completely renovated in 2005, with modern fitted kitchens and stylish modern bathrooms. In 2007, the windows were replaced with modern, double glazed units and the bathrooms in Maria were updated further.

The apartments are spacious and each occupy one complete floor of the house: Maria and Anton (named after the couple who built the house) each have a central hallway with all the rooms opening off, giving complete privacy for each room in the apartment. Arber was created in the attic area at the top of the house with sloping ceilings and exposed beams. These apartments are often booked by families with young families, as Arber is our only 2 bedroomed apartment and Anton and Maria each have one bedroom with bunk beds. There is room to add cots for babies in all 3 apartments.

Maria *****

This apartment has a sitting room with plenty of room for 6 people to sit on the big comfy sofas, a kitchen/dining room with space to seat 6 at the dining table, 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 bunk bedroom, 1 family shower room. There is a balcony on 2 sides with garden/orchard view and access from most of the rooms.

Anton *****

Sleeps 2-6 people.
This apartment has a sitting room with seating for 6 people, a kitchen/dining room with dining table which seats 6, a spacious bathroom with full bath and separate shower, 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with wash basin, 1 bunk bed room with wash basin. From the sitting room there is a door to the shared large terrace.

Arber ****

2nd floor
Sleeps 2-4 people.
This apartment a central kitchen/dining room area with a round dining table seating 4 people and is directly connected to the sitting room which has a door opening onto a small balcony with a direct view to the Arber mountain - great for early evening drinks and watching the sun set. There is a spacious shower room under the eaves, 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom.

Haus Peter *****

This is the most modern of our houses in style - although it is the same age as Haus Sterr (1950s). The house was fully renovated in 2006. The 2 apartments have the same basic layout and all the bathrooms have ensuite shower rooms, although this means that some of the bedrooms are not exactly spacious. Peter is the larger of the 2 apartments, with a much larger sitting room and the front balcony is large enough for 6 people to sit out and eat there. Sumava has a smaller sitting room and front balcony, but the view from the front balcony is the best of all our houses - a panorama from beyond the Arber round to the Czech Republic.

Each apartment has a central hallway opening onto the 3 bedrooms and the fully fitted kitchen/dining room, which connects through an arch to the sitting room. There is room for 6 people to eat at the dining table and for 6 people to sit on the comfortable sofas in the sitting room. The side balcony of each apartment overlooks the big cherry tree and the garden, which can be accessed only from the Regen apartment. The two apartments can be rented together by large families or groups of friends and the Regen apartment has an extended dining table, allowing everyone to eat together.

The apartment has a large sitting room, kitchen/dining room, 2 double bedrooms each with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room. There is a balcony with mountain view large enough for eating out and a balcony with garden view and steps down to the private garden.

Sumava *****

The apartment has a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, 2 double bedrooms each with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room, a balcony with panoramic views of mountains and the forest and a balcony with garden view.

Haus Martin

This house has the appearance of a traditional mountain chalet. It was fully modernised in 2008/9. The house has 4 one bedroom apartments, Wald and Sonne on the ground floor and Vogel and Otter on the 1st floor. Wald and Vogel have separate kitchen/dining rooms while the kitchen is in the living room in Sonne and Otter - all 4 apartments have fully fitted kitchens.

The house is at the very end of Waldschmidtstrasse, 5 minutes walk from the other houses. It has a natural garden planted with shrubs and beautiful rhodedendrons in early summer. The house and garden back directly onto the Bavarian Forest National Park which can be accessed from a gate at the back of the garden.

Wald *****
