Self catering apartments in the Bavarian Forest

Bayerisch Eisenstein

The apartments are in 3 neighbouring houses on the edge of the village yet close to all amenities. Each house has a parking area and garden. Facilities in all houses are available to all guests:

Haus Sterr

Haus Sterr

( Maria, Anton and Arber **** )
Is more traditional in style, with lots of wooden panelling, beams and ceilings and alpine paintings and hunting trophies on the walls of the staircase. This house has DVDs & CDs, food & drink supplies, laundry room, sports equipment, outdoor table tennis in summer, garden, terrace and barbecue, WiFi and a PC for internet access, and a guest shop with food, drinks and toiletries, an ice machine and free flour, sugar, herbs and spices. In summer, there are pots of herbs on the steps up to the house for guests to use. There is a large terrace for eating out and barbecues, and an orchard for sitting out, with a small children's play area.

Haus Peter

(Regen ***** and Sumava ***** )
Is of the same period but more modern in style with fewer traditional features inside. It has a library, sauna room, table football, billiards, gym equipment, WiFi.

Haus Martin

(Wald and Sonne)
Is a little further down the street, a traditional style building with garden backing onto the forest. The house has indoor table tennis and a pool table.

For large families/groups, Haus Peter Regen and Sumava are recommended as Regen has a large sitting room and extending dining table.

Kitchens are stocked with rolls, muesli, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, jam and spread, salt, pepper, cooking oil, salad oil and wine vinegar, washing up liquid and dish washer tablets and tea towels. The bathrooms are stocked with bath and handtowels, hair dryer, liquid soap, shower gel, tissues, toilet rolls and cleaning materials. Beds are made up.

Slippers are provided for use within the houses. Towels are provided for use in the sauna and to take swimming. Bath robes are available on request.

Cots and high chairs, equipment and toys are available for babies.

No smoking is permitted in any part of the houses or gardens. No animals may be brought to the properties.

1st floor
Sleeps 2-6 people. It has a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bunk bedroom, 1 family shower room, balcony on 2 sides with garden/orchard view and access from most of the rooms.

Haus Sterr Anton

Ground floor
Sleeps 2-6 people. It has a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, bathroom with full bath and separate shower, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bunk bed room. From the sitting room there is a door to the shared large terrace.

Haus Sterr Arber ****

Sleeps 2-4 people. It has a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, shower room, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, and a balcony with afternoon sun and a direct view to the Arber mountain - lovely for early evening drinks.

This apartment has been given a 4 star rating by the German Tourism Association.

Sleeps 2 people. It has a combined sitting/kitchen/dining room, 1 double bedroom, shower room, balcony with garden and forest views.

Spiegelhuette

We also let 2 spacious studio apartments in the elegant Art Nouveau Villa Arberblick in the hamlet of Spiegelhuette, in the middle of the National Park, approx. 20 minutes drive from Bayerisch Eisenstein and the Czech border. The apartments are adjacent and can easily be rented together by one group/family. The apartments are supplied with bedlinen and towels. Each has a TV, microwave, 2 ring hob, coffee machine. Welcome packs are not available. Guests are welcome to use the facilities at Haus Sterr in Bayerisch Eisenstein.

Important information: the location of the apartments and the apartments themselves are beautiful, the perfect place for an 'away from it all/walking' holiday. BUT Spiegelhuette has one small shop and one small restaurant. There is no railway station and only an occastional bus service. Most guests will find that a car is essential for travelling to the village and for shopping, eating out and sightseeing.
